Lance Corporal Martindale died of wounds on this day but as yet we have no further information regarding his death. He was buried at Rouen so we can presume that he was wounded at an earlier date. 2nd Middlesex were part of  23 Brigade, 8th Division which was fighting in trenches of northern France near Armentieres.
